Finally! The day we've all been waiting for since last year is here. At the moment I'm sitting in the livingroom in pyjamas with my family, watching Christmas series on TV while my father is preparing for Christmas brunch. Oh how amazing it feels to be back home.
One of the best things about studying abroad is that you get to know so many interesting people from different cultures. I've learned first handed how different visions people have on Christmas depending on where they are from. In some cultures, even though they celebrate Christmas, it is mainly just another day of the year when they give some presents to their closest ones while in Scandinavia it is usually our most important family tradition. Everyone come home no matter where in the world they're living and the whole month of December is all about finding that Christmas spirit. Since I was a little girl I can remember how Christmas eve was the most magical day of the year. It still is. It's less about presents and more about family, but it is just as magical every year.
I hope you all have an amazing day no matter how you are (or are not) celebrating today. Merry Christmas!
